EDS-2005-EL Overview

Introduction

The IESM S 3016 series functions as a Layer 2 managed industrial switch, offering significant flexibility in its physical connections. The platform supports various configurations with up to 16 10/100Base-T(X) copper ports, up to four 100Base-FX fiber ports, and up to four Gigabit SFP ports. This adaptability allows network architects to integrate a diverse range of devices over both short and long distances, accommodating the specific physical media requirements of the facility.

To meet the demands of industrial control systems, the series is equipped with a comprehensive suite of management capabilities. It supports essential Layer 2 protocols for network control and security, including VLAN for traffic segmentation, QoS for data prioritization, and STP/RSTP for network redundancy. Management is facilitated through multiple interfaces, including Command-Line Interface (CLI) via a console port, a web-based GUI, and SNMP for integration into network management systems. This combination of port density and advanced control establishes the IESM S 30XX as a safe and reliable solution for industrial networking access.
