EDS-2005-EL Overview

Introduction

As a High Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) device, the IPSG 108-2S A is engineered to power a larger array of network equipment in compliance with IEEE 802.3af/at standards. Its primary role is to serve as a central connection point in environments with multiple IP cameras, wireless access points, or other PoE devices. The switch simplifies network architecture by delivering both data and power over twisted-pair Ethernet cables while using its dual SFP slots to extend the network backbone over long distances via fiber optics.

The switch features a robust port configuration consisting of eight 10/100/1000Base-T ports and two 1000Base-X SFP slots. This configuration not only supports more end devices but also facilitates network topologies like daisy-chaining, where switches are linked sequentially over fiber to cover expansive areas. The eight RJ-45 ports support auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X, ensuring simple, plug-and-play deployment for devices up to 100 meters away.
