Introduction
The SC10EK2 485 MT is a versatile and robust dual-port Serial to Ethernet converter designed to bridge legacy serial devices with modern Ethernet LAN infrastructure. Its primary function is to provide seamless network connectivity for equipment such as access controllers, fire alarm panels, and industrial automation products, enabling them to be integrated into and managed by contemporary IT systems.
This device extends the operational life and capability of existing serial equipment by enabling remote access, management, and control over a standard network. The SC10EK2 485 MT allows serial ports to be operated over long distances using LAN cabling and includes a Virtual COM port utility, which ensures protocol-independent device connectivity. This powerful combination allows organizations to remotely manage their serial devices as if they were directly connected to a local computer.
