The SC10E4 S Series is a cost-effective industrial serial device server that functions as a gateway for Ethernet (TCP/IP) and serial signal communications. Its core purpose is to connect virtually any serial device to a new or existing Ethernet network by encapsulating serial data for transport. The device offers full-duplex, bi-directional data transmission, seamlessly managing communication between its four software-selectable serial ports and the network via dual 10/100 Ethernet ports or dual 100/1000 SFP fiber slots.
Built for mission-critical industrial deployment, the SC10E4 S Series integrates advanced security and redundancy features. It embeds OpenVPN and IPsec VPN encryption to create secure data tunnels over the internet, preventing unauthorized access to sensitive serial devices. Network resilience is enhanced by the integrated Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), which enables a redundant backup Ethernet link in the event of a primary link failure. Housed in a rugged metal enclosure with a wide-range redundant power input and high EMC protection, the device offers flexible configuration via Telnet, Web Browser, Serial Console, or a dedicated Windows Utility, making it a highly versatile and dependable solution.
