Its key differentiator is the ability to perform TRUE protocol translation, where the fundamental structure and data types of one protocol are intelligently mapped to another, rather than simple packet encapsulation. This ensures deeper and more seamless integration between disparate systems.
The core purpose of the GW BMS 01 is to provide a robust hardware and software platform for translating between Modbus RTU devices on a serial network and a BACnet IP network. It includes features specifically beneficial for OEMs, such as virtual nodes, which allow multiple downstream controllers to appear as individual devices on the BACnet network, simplifying system architecture and management.
