Introduction

The IPS 104-2S A Industrial PoE Switch is an ideal, high-performance solution for networks requiring both power and data transmission over a single cable. This 6-port switch features four 10/100Base-TX ports capable of delivering Power over Ethernet (PoE) and two 100Base-FX SFP fiber ports for extended-distance connectivity. It is fully IEEE 802.3af/at compliant, supporting all Power over Ethernet Powered Devices (PDs) and capable of delivering up to 15.4W (PoE) or 30W (PoE+) of power per port to remote devices like IP cameras, phones, wireless access points, and sensors located up to 100m away. The switch operates on a Store and Forward processing type with a 1.0 Gbps Back Bandwidth and supports Auto MDI/MDI-X and Auto-negotiation on its RJ45 ports for simple, plug-and-play deployment.

Built for operation in the harshest industrial and railway environments, the IPS 104-2S boasts a rugged design with IP40 protection and a durable Aluminum Alloy housing. Its robust power design includes a wide-range redundant power input (48 to 56 VDC) via a terminal block, ensuring continuous operation, and features essential protections such as Reverse Polarity and Overload Current Resettable Fuses. The switch is designed to operate reliably across an extremely wide temperature range, from -40⁰C to +85⁰C. Installation is flexible, supporting both DIN-rail and wall mounting.

Beyond its physical resilience, the IPS 104-2S is certified for critical standards, ensuring high reliability in demanding applications. It complies with multiple IEC 61000 standards for EMC and EMS at high levels, providing excellent protection against ESD, surge, and electromagnetic interference. Crucially, it is certified for Railway Traffic (EN 50121-4) and tested for Shock, Freefall, and Vibration (IEC 60068), confirming its suitability for transport and other mission-critical industrial infrastructures where stable, reliable, and remotely powered networking is essential.
