EDS-2005-EL Overview

Introduction

The IPSG 104-2S A, a model, is an industrial-grade Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch engineered to provide robust and reliable network connectivity in challenging operational environments. It addresses the critical need for deploying powered network devices in locations where direct access to power sources is scarce or impractical. This unmanaged switch serves as a foundational component for modern industrial networks, simplifying infrastructure deployment and enhancing system resilience.

At its core, the IPSG 104-2S A is designed to power remote devices such as IP video cameras, wireless access points, IP phones, industrial sensors, alarms, traffic controllers, and tracking devices located up to 100 meters away. By leveraging Power over Ethernet technology, it eliminates the need for separate electrical wiring to each end device, significantly reducing installation complexity and cost. The switch fully complies with both IEEE 802.3af (PoE) and IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standards, ensuring broad compatibility and the ability to deliver up to 30W of power per port to meet the demands of high-power devices. With four Gigabit PoE copper ports and two flexible Gigabit SFP slots for fiber optic uplinks, it offers a versatile blend of local connectivity and long-distance backbone integration.
