Introduction
The Nohmi Fire Alarm and Control Panel (FACP) – N3060 is a large-scale addressable fire detection system capable of supporting up to 3,060 addressable devices across 12 loops, with 255 devices per loop. For large installations, multiple panels can be networked together supporting up to 64 interconnected N3060 panels to form a comprehensive fire alarm system covering extensive facilities.
To enable integration with third-party Building Management Systems (BMS) and centralized monitoring platforms, there is a requirement to expose fire system status over standard open protocols such as BACnet or Modbus TCP. The N3060 provides an RS-232 communication port intended for external interfaces and outputs system status data in a proprietary ASCII format. A dedicated protocol gateway is therefore required to interpret this proprietary data and convert it into standard automation protocols, allowing seamless monitoring, alarm reporting, and supervisory integration without modifying the core fire alarm system.
