EDS-2005-EL Overview

Introduction

The IPSMGR 4024-4S A Hi is positioned as a high-density, integrated solution designed for deployments that require powering numerous network-edge devices. Its fixed-port architecture and robust Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities make it an ideal platform for applications such as IP surveillance networks, wireless access point deployments, and VoIP telephony systems where simplicity and high port density are primary concerns.

This Layer 3 Managed PoE Gigabit Industrial Ethernet Switch offers a straightforward and powerful configuration out of the box. It features 24 fixed 10/100/1000 Base-TX ports and four dedicated Gigabit SFP ports for fiber uplinks. Its primary function is to provide both data connectivity and power to network devices over a single Ethernet cable, simplifying installation and reducing the need for separate power sources at the edge. The switch is available in configurations providing 8, 16, or 24 PoE injector ports, capable of powering devices like WLAN access points, IP security cameras, and VoIP telephones.

To support these deployments, the switch is equipped with a versatile management framework, including Web, SNMP, SSH, Telnet, and Console interfaces, giving administrators a range of options for configuration and monitoring. It also includes support for IPv6, ensuring it is prepared for modern network addressing schemes.
