EDS-2005-EL Overview

Introduction

The San Telequip RIO241 is a versatile I/O to Modbus RTU converter engineered for a wide range of industrial automation, monitoring, and control applications. Its primary role is to serve as a robust and reliable bridge, translating data from field-level sensors and contacts into the standard Modbus protocol for seamless communication with a central Modbus Master or SCADA system.

At its core, the RIO241 functions as a Modbus RTU slave device capable of monitoring up to two analog inputs and four digital inputs, while also controlling a single digital output. The status of all inputs is continuously updated and made accessible through predefined Modbus registers, allowing for straightforward integration and real-time data acquisition. Designed specifically for deployment within industrial control panels, it provides a compact and efficient solution for expanding the I/O capabilities of any Modbus-based network.
