EDS-2005-EL Overview

Introduction

In modern industrial environments, the ability to accurately monitor and control critical process parameters is paramount for ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety. The San Telequip RIO MTCP Remote I/O System is strategically designed to meet this need, serving as a robust bridge between physical field sensors—measuring variables like temperature, pressure, level, and flow—and centralized digital Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

The primary purpose of the RIO MTCP is to function as a Modbus TCP slave device, engineered to monitor diverse field inputs and manage control outputs with high reliability. It updates the status of analog and digital inputs in predefined Modbus registers, while allowing digital outputs to be controlled directly via the network. Designed for seamless integration into industrial panels, the system operates on a standard 24V DC power supply, with an optional 230V AC variant available to accommodate different power infrastructures.

At its core, the RIO MTCP features a highly modular architecture built around a central processing unit and a chassis with six available slots. This design allows for a versatile combination of Input/Output (I/O) boards, enabling users to tailor the system's configuration to the specific demands of their application. This inherent flexibility is supported by a comprehensive set of features that ensure robust performance and ease of use.
