The San Telequip SC09FSS is a specialized serial to fiber optic converter designed to extend serial communication links in challenging industrial environments. At its core, the converter's primary function is to create a seamless connection between RS232, RS422, and RS485 devices using a fiber optic link. This capability economically and efficiently extends serial communications up to 2 kilometers over multi-mode fiber or up to an extensive 100 kilometers using single-mode fiber. The SC09FSS series supports high-speed data transmission, with rates of up to 460 kbps (500 kbps peak) for RS422/RS485 interfaces and 115.2 kbps for RS232, ensuring that performance is not compromised for distance.
