Introduction
The SC10MK X E serves as a critical bridge between legacy serial Modbus devices and modern Modbus TCP/IP networks. In an era of increasing connectivity, this converter provides a straightforward solution to make serial equipment "Internet ready," enabling remote software access from anywhere on the network. Its high-end CPU makes it an ideal choice for modernizing systems in applications such as energy meters, solar controls, PLCs, and other industrial instruments.
Functioning as a single-port Modbus RTU/ASCII to Modbus TCP gateway, the SC10MK X E translates between the serial-based Modbus protocols and the Ethernet-based TCP protocol. This allows industrial control systems, SCADA software, and other TCP-based applications to communicate seamlessly with devices that traditionally rely on RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 connections. The device simplifies network architecture, reduces wiring complexity, and extends the life of valuable serial assets.
