EDS-2005-EL Overview

Introduction

In modern industrial environments, the ability to reliably transmit data over long distances is critical for operational efficiency and safety. Applications such as remote machine monitoring, environmental sensing, and distributed process control depend on robust wireless communication to bridge the gap between field assets and central control systems. The San Telequip SC15L series is a LoRa-based IoT gateway system designed specifically to meet this need, providing a dependable and scalable solution for industrial data acquisition.

The SC15L series functions as an integrated system to connect field sensors and Modbus slave devices to a central access point. The architecture consists of SC15L series transmitters deployed at remote locations, which wirelessly send I/O data or Modbus device data to a central SC15L APS Access Point. This access point then consolidates the data and provides a standard Modbus RTU interface for seamless integration with PLCs, SCADA systems, or other monitoring platforms. The system is engineered for scalability, enabling a single gateway to communicate with up to 100 remote transmitter devices.

This combination of long-range wireless connectivity, versatile I/O support, and high-capacity network architecture is enabled by a specific set of purpose-built features designed for demanding industrial applications.
