EDS-2005-EL Overview

Introduction

The San Telequip RIO MTCP E is a remote I/O module designed to bridge the gap between physical field sensors and digital industrial control systems. Its primary function is to acquire, convert, and transmit data from sensors monitoring critical process parameters—such as temperature, pressure, level, and flow—to a central SCADA or control system. By translating real-world analog and digital signals into the Modbus protocol, the module plays a vital role in modern industrial process monitoring and automation.

At its core, the device is architected as a ModbusTCP slave, engineered for seamless integration into standard industrial panels. It operates on a 24V DC power supply, with an optional configuration for 230V AC to accommodate diverse power environments. The fundamental purpose of the RIO MTCP E is to serve as a reliable data conduit, converting sensor inputs into standardized Modbus registers that can be easily accessed and controlled over an Ethernet network.

This functionality is enabled by a combination of a high-performance processing core, flexible I/O modularity, and a robust, industrial-grade hardware design.
